Our lead attorney comes from a variety of disciplines. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1957, changed to the Air Force Reserve as a First Lieutenant in 1965 and retired in 1992 as a Lieutenant Colonel. As a civilian, Mr Roberts went to work for Eastman Kodak in 1965 providing systems engineering on Kodak's aerospace projects. He eventually became a software engineer and worked for a number of Aerospace Companies. In 1981, he founded Julian Computer Systems, a developer of business software. In 1985, he left industry, became a partner in Five Star Realty, and founded Five Star Tax Services. As a natural outgrowth of his tax service, he became an enrolled agent in 1990, enrolled in law school in 1991, and passed the California Bar exam in 1995 on his first attempt.
An attorney-friend once remarked “Julian, you have more degrees than a thermometer. While that may be a bit of an exaggeration, Mr. Roberts does have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, an M.S. in Statistics, an M.S. in Law, a J.D., and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in psychology at Capella University. He believes in education and supports the West Valley/Mission College Community District by serving as a director of the Advancement Foundation and as Chair of the Advanced Planning Committee. He urges everyone to consider including local community colleges as beneficiaries in their estate planning.
